I Let My Ex Sleep in My Garage After He Said He Had an Argument with His Wife – A Week Later, My Neighbor Showed Me Security Footage That Made My Blood Run Cold

When my ex-husband Brian showed up asking to sleep in our garage after a fight with his new wife, I knew it was a bad idea. But my current husband reminded me we shared two children, and I didn’t want another ugly scene.
So I agreed. One or two nights turned into five.
At first, Brian acted harmless. Quiet. Grateful. But then my daughter started asking if her dad was moving back in because he kept telling the kids things like, “I’d sleep anywhere just to stay close to you.”
Something felt wrong.
Two days after he left, my elderly neighbor knocked on my door holding security footage from her camera. She looked disturbed and told me I needed to see it.
At 4:17 every morning, Brian would sneak out of the garage carrying my children’s belongings — shoes, blankets, backpacks, even lunch bags. He arranged them carefully outside the garage, then used a timer on his phone to take photos of himself looking sad and abandoned.
The kids were asleep the entire time.
He was staging fake “heartbroken father” pictures to gain sympathy from his wife and family.
When I confronted him in front of everyone, including his mother and current wife, I played the footage. His wife burst into tears after realizing he had lied about our children bringing him comfort items while he “suffered” outside.
That night, I changed the locks on the garage.
Brian wanted a stage.
Instead, I gave him a closed curtain.
