Our jealous neighbor cut down our 200-year-old sequoia while we were on vacation — but i put her in her place

While we were on vacation, our neighbor Barbara had our 200-year-old sequoia tree cut down, along with two oaks, claiming a storm was responsible. Our home, part of a historic manor with five majestic sequoias, was devastated. Barbara, who moved in after her parents’ passing, had long resented our trees, complaining about shade and leaves since a storm felled one of hers. She even sent us an $8,000 bill for alleged damages.

Heartbroken and furious, we felt helpless without proof—until I remembered our owl-monitoring camera. The footage clearly showed Barbara cutting down the tree. Confronted with this evidence, she faced accountability for her actions. Though our beloved sequoia is gone forever, Barbara learned a hard lesson.
