I Thought My Boss Was Flirting With My Husband — Then She Left a Note on My Desk That Changed Everything

My husband, Eric, and I worked for the same company, although we were in different departments.
For months, my supervisor, Melissa, had been making my life miserable.
She criticized everything I did, questioned my reports, and constantly found reasons to keep me late.
Then I noticed something strange.
She kept watching Eric whenever he walked through our department.
Twice, I saw her asking him to meet privately. Once, she even invited him for coffee.
I honestly thought she was interested in my husband.
Then, one Tuesday morning, I found a handwritten note on my desk.
“Please come to my office at lunch. There’s something you need to know about Eric.”
I went immediately.
Melissa closed the door and handed me a folder.
Inside were copies of six expense reports submitted under my employee account.
Every one contained my electronic signature.
But I hadn’t submitted any of them.
Melissa explained that someone had been using my computer after hours to approve reimbursements totaling almost $9,000.
Security records showed Eric entering my department on those evenings.
He knew my password because I’d once used it on our shared laptop.
Suddenly, I understood why Melissa had been questioning my work.
She’d suspected me until the audit uncovered the truth.
She apologized.
That afternoon, I went to HR.
Eric was already waiting there.
And for the first time in eleven years of marriage, he couldn’t look me in the eye.
