My Father-in-Law Humiliated a Waiter Over a Missing Burger — Then My 8-Year-Old Son Exposed What Really Happened

My father-in-law, Richard, has always been difficult with restaurant staff.

He complains about everything, rarely tips, and somehow believes being a paying customer means he can speak to people however he wants.

Last Saturday, my husband and I took him and our eight-year-old son to a burger restaurant.

Richard ordered four burgers to take home.

When the waiter brought the bag, Richard immediately started checking everything.

He pulled out one burger, placed it beside his chair, and continued digging through the bag.

Then he suddenly shouted.

“I ORDERED FOUR BURGERS! THERE ARE ONLY THREE!”

The waiter apologized and offered to check the kitchen.

But Richard wouldn’t stop.

“Are you blind? How hard is it to count four burgers?”

People started staring.

The poor waiter looked embarrassed.

Then my son, Oliver, spoke up.

“Grandpa, why are you yelling?”

Richard ignored him.

Oliver pointed beside his chair.

**”Didn’t you already take one burger out and put it under your jacket?”**

Everyone went quiet.

Richard slowly lifted his jacket.

There was the fourth burger.

My husband started laughing.

The waiter simply smiled and said, “Looks like we found it, sir.”

Richard’s face turned bright red.

He mumbled something about forgetting.

Before leaving, my son looked at him and said, “Mom says we should apologize when we’re wrong.”

For once, Richard actually did.

And yes, my husband left the waiter a generous tip.
