I Lost My Fifth Child After My Husband Left Me for My Younger Sister – At Their Wedding, My 9-Year-Old Daughter Did Something He Never Expected

On the morning my ex-husband Ryan married my younger sister Lina, our 9-year-old daughter Amelia asked me, “If Dad marries Aunt Lina, is she still your sister?”
I couldn’t answer.
Ryan had cheated on me with Lina while I was pregnant with our fifth child. After the divorce, I lost the baby. Three weeks later, they announced their engagement.
I stayed home from the wedding, but Amelia went with my mother.
Hours later, my cousin called.
“Amelia stopped the ceremony. You need to come.”
At the reception, Ryan and Lina had planned a unity-candle ceremony to symbolize their “new family.” Amelia was supposed to light her candle from theirs.
Instead, she asked, “If this makes us one family, where does Mom go?”
Nobody had an answer.
Then she asked why I wasn’t included and reminded my mother, “You always say family supports family. Why didn’t Aunt Lina support Mom?”
Amelia picked up her candle and walked outside.
When I arrived, she ran into my arms.
Later, Lina tried to explain that she wasn’t replacing me.
Amelia looked at her and asked, “Then why do you call yourself my bonus mom?”
Lina froze.
Then came the question from that morning:
“Are you still Mom’s sister?”
The room went silent.
Amelia hugged her candle and told Ryan, “I came because you’re my dad. I didn’t come to say what you did was okay.”
Then she came home with me.
That night, the candle sat unlit on our windowsill.
Exactly where Amelia chose to put it.
