My Husband Only Allowed Me 4 Minutes in the Shower Before Cutting the Water – When His Father Found Out, He Taught Him a Lesson He’ll Never Forget

Six weeks after giving birth, I was begging for a few minutes to shower while my newborn cried nonstop and exhaustion consumed me. Instead of helping, my husband taped a timer to the bathroom door and told me I had exactly four minutes before he would shut the water off.
At first, I thought he was joking.
He wasn’t.
Every shower became a countdown. If the timer beeped before I finished washing my hair, he’d turn the water off at the main valve while I stood there covered in soap. Meanwhile, he complained that the baby’s crying interrupted his work and acted like my exhaustion was an inconvenience.
The worst part? I started believing I was the problem.
Then one morning, after the water shut off again, I stepped into the hallway expecting another argument — but instead found my father-in-law standing there.
He had seen everything.
Without yelling, he made my husband sit down and handed him a detailed schedule of my entire day: feedings, diapers, laundry, bottles, sleepless nights… everything. Then he announced that for the next seven days, my husband would do ALL of it himself.
By the third night, my husband looked broken. By the fourth, he whispered while holding our daughter, “I’m sorry. I didn’t know it was like this.”
And for the first time in weeks, I took a shower without rushing.
