His appointment signals a new direction for both Pence and the Heritage Foundation. He is expected to promote the organization’s Project 2025, a comprehensive presidential transition plan, as a guide for the next Republican administration, regardless of who wins the presidency. Heritage leaders say Pence’s focus is on advancing long-term conservative ideas beyond any single election.
Pence also plans to expand his advocacy for strict abortion restrictions, school choice, and tougher policies toward China.
