The Woman Who Saved Our Son..

My husband and I adopted our son six years ago through a closed adoption and knew almost nothing about his earliest days. One afternoon at the park, a woman approached him with tears in her eyes and softly said, “I missed you so much.” Startled, I immediately pulled him away and contacted the police.
When officers checked her identity, they uncovered a surprising truth. The woman, Elena, wasn’t a threat at all—she was the paramedic who had saved my son’s life as a newborn.
Six years earlier, he had been abandoned in a gas station bathroom during a freezing winter night. He was barely breathing and suffering from severe hypothermia. Elena performed CPR for eleven minutes in the ambulance and ultimately helped save his life.
What made the story even more emotional was that Elena had lost her own baby just two months before that call. Saving my son became a deeply personal moment for her, and she quietly followed the case afterward to ensure he was safe and cared for.
She never tried to contact us because she didn’t want to interfere with our family. She only wanted to know that the child she fought so hard to save had a happy life. She recognized him at the park by a small scar on his forehead.
Touched by her compassion and selflessness, I invited her to his next birthday celebration.
Sometimes, the people who change your life forever do so quietly, expecting nothing in return.
