I Broke My Arm and Asked My Husband to Help with Our 5-Month-Old Twins, but He Said, ‘Moms Don’t Get Sick Days’ – So I Taught Him a Lesson He’d Never Forget

**My Husband Refused to Help with Our 5-Month-Old Twins After I Broke My Arm — So I Made a Decision That Changed Everything**

When I fell down the stairs and broke my arm, the doctor warned me not to lift anything while it healed. But with five-month-old twins, Luke and Miles, that seemed impossible.

I begged my husband, Derek, to help with feeding, bathing, and nighttime care.

His response broke my heart.

**”Moms don’t get sick days. You wanted kids. That’s your job.”**

Even when I explained that I physically couldn’t manage everything, he refused.

One evening, I handed him a simple schedule of things I needed help with.

He pushed it away.

“I’m not doing shifts in my own house.”

That was my breaking point.

I packed our bags, called my mother, and took the twins to her house.

Derek was furious.

**”You took my kids and left?”**

“Our kids,” I corrected him.

When his mother discovered why we’d left, she confronted him. For the first time, Derek realized how selfish he’d been.

He eventually apologized and started learning how to care for our sons without waiting for instructions.

Weeks later, I returned home cautiously.

That night, when Miles cried, Derek got up before I could move.

“I’ve got him,” he whispered.

For once, my tea stayed warm.

**I hadn’t abandoned my family. I’d finally stopped carrying it alone.**
