At 96, Clint Eastwood Has Officially Stepped Away From Hollywood
After more than seven decades in entertainment, Clint Eastwood has retired from acting and directing, closing one of Hollywood’s longest and most influential careers.
Now 96, Eastwood leaves behind more than 70 films, four Academy Awards, and a legacy spanning generations. He first gained fame on the TV western Rawhide before becoming an international star through A Fistful of Dollars, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and Dirty Harry.
His career later expanded behind the camera, where he became an acclaimed director. Films such as Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby strengthened his reputation, while Gran Torino, American Sniper, and The Mule showed his lasting impact.
Eastwood’s final acting role came in Cry Macho in 2021, and Juror No. 2, released in 2024, became his final directing project.
