My Divorced Neighbor Told Me, ‘I’m Going to Take Your Husband, so You’d Better Prepare for Divorce’ – I Decided to Teach Her a Lesson in a Way Only Another Woman Could

After 17 years of marriage, I never expected my divorced neighbor to sit in my kitchen and calmly say, “I’m going to take your husband.”

Vanessa had recently moved next door. At first, I felt sorry for her. I brought her pie, helped her unpack, and invited her for coffee.

Soon, she constantly found excuses to call my husband, Irvin. A loose cabinet, a shelf, a smoke detector—anything to get him into her house.

Then she openly told me I should prepare for divorce because “men get bored.”

Irvin immediately stopped helping her, but Vanessa didn’t stop flirting.

Later, she invited him to a neighborhood barbecue but deliberately excluded me.

I told him to go.

Thirty minutes later, I arrived carrying a large gift box.

Inside were tools, batteries, lightbulbs, a jar opener, a home-repair guide, and a list of local handymen.

“Now you don’t need my husband anymore,” I said.

Humiliated, Vanessa retaliated by reporting my home bakery for a real permit issue and spreading cropped messages that made Irvin look interested in her.

Instead of giving her leverage, we admitted our mistake, temporarily closed the bakery, and brought the complete messages to an HOA meeting.

The full conversations showed Irvin repeatedly rejecting her advances.

Once we faced our own mistake openly, Vanessa had nothing left to threaten us with.
