Every Woman My Widowed Father Dated Vanished Overnight – So I Asked My Friend to Go on One Date With Him

After my mother died, my father spent twelve years alone. When he finally began dating again, every woman seemed excited to see him—then vanished the next morning without explanation.

After the sixth disappearance, I asked my best friend Rachel to go on a date with him and tell me whether he was doing something wrong.

She said he was kind, funny, and respectful. They even planned another dinner.

The following morning, Rachel stopped answering me.

When she finally returned, she showed me threatening messages from an unknown number. The sender had photographed her leaving the restaurant, knew her address and workplace, and threatened to expose a painful secret about her brother.

Security footage from my father’s house revealed a hooded figure near his car. I recognized the person’s distinctive shoes.

They belonged to my aunt Sabrina—my late mother’s sister.

When confronted, Sabrina admitted she had tracked every woman my father dated, researched their private lives, and frightened them away. She claimed she was protecting my mother’s place in his heart.

Instead, she had trapped him inside his grief.

Rachel reported the threats, and Sabrina eventually accepted responsibility and entered counseling.

Months later, my father tried dating again. This time, the woman stayed.

When he called after their third date, music was playing in the background—and for the first time in twelve years, I heard him laugh again.
