My Daughter-in-Law Wanted a Foot Massage. I Said No. She Wanted Revenge

I’m Lana, 60, and I never imagined my family would turn against me over something as simple as a foot massage.

I’ve always been there for my son and his pregnant wife—running errands, cooking meals, driving to appointments, and helping whenever they needed me. I genuinely enjoyed being involved.

Then one day, she called and said, “My feet are swollen. Come massage them.”

It wasn’t a request. It was a demand.

Caught off guard, I laughed and replied, “Are you out of your mind?” expecting her to joke back. Instead, she smirked and said, “You’ll regret it.”

The next morning, she posted a TikTok portraying herself as a suffering pregnant woman abandoned by her “heartless mother-in-law.” She tagged me, my family, and local community pages.

Within hours, relatives were criticizing me. My husband said I should have just done it. Even worse, my son told me he was embarrassed by my behavior and stopped answering my calls.

Then I discovered something even more disturbing.

She had been secretly filming me for weeks—capturing ordinary moments and editing them to make me appear cold, distant, and uncaring. The viral video wasn’t spontaneous. It was part of a story she had been building all along.

Now I’m left wondering: since when does supporting family mean surrendering every personal boundary?

I’ve spent my life helping others. I never expected kindness to be repaid with public humiliation and betrayal.
