The Scarface Bikini Girl Whose Sudden Disappearance Still Haunts Hollywood
Tammy Lynn Leppert seemed born for the spotlight. Born in Florida in 1965, she grew up winning beauty pageants, modeling, and dreaming of Hollywood success while still staying close to home.
Her future looked bright. She appeared in Little Darlings, Spring Break, and became briefly unforgettable in Scarface as the blonde woman in the blue bikini during the famous chainsaw scene. It felt like bigger roles were coming.
But after an unsupervised party following Spring Break, Tammy changed. Friends and family said she became fearful, anxious, and convinced someone wanted to hurt her. During Scarface, a staged shooting reportedly caused her to break down. Doctors found no drugs or illness, leaving her behavior unexplained.
On July 6, 1983, Tammy left home with a male acquaintance after telling her mother she’d be back soon. After an argument, he claimed he dropped her near Cocoa Beach.
She vanished forever. Her case remains open.
