Story That Prove Kindness Can Turn Shadows Into Light

When I was 14, I was so poor that I couldn’t even afford lunch, so I would pretend to forget it. One teacher began bringing me food every day, but partway through the school year, she suddenly disappeared and never came back.

A decade later, I had become a lawyer. I saw her name on the appointment list. When she walked in, I was stunned. She was the same kind woman I remembered, with that gentle look in her eyes. But then she started trembling and shaking. At first, she didn’t recognize me, but when I told her my name, she smiled.

She told me her husband of 20 years had left her for a younger woman and stolen all her savings in a carefully planned scheme. She couldn’t afford a lawyer but came seeking help—or at least a discount. I took her case and told her I wouldn’t charge her a single cent.

We won. She recovered all her money and even received additional compensation. She hugged me, saying I had saved her. I told her I was just repaying a debt—and that she could always count on me.
