In a late-night Thanksgiving post, the US President revived his harshest immigration rhetoric, calling for a “permanent pause” on migration from what he labeled “all Third World countries.”
What began as a holiday greeting turned into attacks on immigrants, political rivals, and officials in Minnesota. Trump blamed lenient policies for a fatal D.C. shooting involving an Afghan asylum seeker and repeated long-standing claims about Somali immigrants “causing trouble” and “taking over” Minnesota.
He used an offensive slur against Governor Tim Walz, who responded with “Release the MRI results,” and mocked Rep. Ilhan Omar, calling her the “worst” lawmaker and insulting her Somali heritage.
Trump also demanded mass deportations, a full review of green card holders, and said only “reverse migration” could fix the system—ending the post with: “HAPPY THANKSGIVING, except those who hate and destroy America.”
