My Husband Abandoned Me during Labor to Help His Mom with Groceries – He Soon Learned His Lesson

When Aria (32) goes into labor with her and Dave’s (34) firstborn at 38 weeks, she’s stunned as he abandons her mid-contraction after his mother Marlene calls. He insists it’s urgent and he’ll return quickly.
Six hours in, another contraction hits when Dave steps out for a call, then a text. Agitated, he announces he must leave—for his mom. Aria begs him to stay; their baby is coming. He kisses her forehead and bolts.
Alone and betrayed, Aria texts him: Is Marlene okay? He replies she’s fine—just heavy groceries. Furious, Aria’s blood pressure spikes, alerting nurse Gloria. Tearfully, Aria explains; Gloria calls Aria’s dad, who rushes over with fast food.
With Gloria and Dad supporting her, Aria births daughter Gabrielle. An intern records it since Dave took the camcorder. Overwhelmed with joy and grief, Aria whispers, “How could he choose her over us?”
Dad drives them to his house. Aria leaves Dave a letter and flash drive with the birth video via Gloria: “This is what you missed… the sacrifice of being a husband and father.”
Dave arrives at empty hospital, bombards her with calls—she ignores. Days later, at Dad’s family gathering introducing Gabi (Dave uninvited), he shows up remorseful. “I chose wrong. Forgive me—I’ll prove I’m the father she deserves.”
Aria gives one chance: Show, don’t tell. He vows never to let them down again. She’s waiting for Marlene’s apology too.
What would you do?
