I Refused to Attend My Son’s Wedding And Instead Spent the Day With His Ex-Wife

My 25-year-old son married a wonderful young woman named Tina. They seemed happy, and when their baby boy was born, I believed they had a bright future ahead.

Then Tina quietly revealed something heartbreaking: my son had been unfaithful. Not once, but several times. She had proof, and I was devastated. That wasn’t how I raised him.

I apologized to her and even told her that if she ever chose to leave, I would support her completely. But Tina loved him and kept forgiving him, hoping he would change.

Instead, months later, my son called to announce he was filing for divorce. He had found someone new and claimed she was “a better fit.”

Tina was left alone with a one-year-old child, struggling to survive in a small rented room while working every chance she could.

Then came the final blow: my son invited us to his wedding.

When I asked why he had treated Tina so badly, he laughed and said, “She’s great, but I deserve someone better.”

My heart broke.

On the day of his wedding, my husband and I went somewhere else—to Tina’s home. We helped with chores, cared for the baby, brought food, and gave her a chance to rest.

When my son called demanding to know where we were, I replied, “I’m with your ex-wife. You were a terrible husband, and I’m ashamed of you.”

He hung up and hasn’t spoken to us since.

Honestly, I don’t regret a thing.
