What my wife’s rejection taught me about self-worth

My wife Emma, known for her unique style and confidence, was humiliated by a lingerie store clerk who told her she wasn’t “pretty enough” to apply for a job. Devastated, Emma came home in tears, her self-esteem shaken. Furious, I devised a plan with my friend Mike, a talent scout. The next day, we visited the store. Mike pretended to scout the rude clerk for a modeling gig,

only to reject her, saying she wasn’t suitable. Then, as Emma entered, he “noticed” her and praised her as the perfect fit. The clerk fumed, getting a taste of her own cruelty. Emma smiled, regaining some confidence, though she felt a bit sorry for the clerk. I wanted Emma to realize her worth comes from within, not others’ opinions.
