My Husband Refused to Pay for My Son’s Education—So I Turned the Tables

My husband and I have been married for 8 years. He has three children from his previous marriage, and I have a 12-year-old son with my ex.
Recently, my ex lost his job and could no longer afford our son’s school tuition. The school warned us they would expel him if we didn’t pay soon.
So I turned to my husband for help.
He looked at me coldly and said, “Your son is not really my problem. I already have my own kids.”
Something inside me broke.
What made it worse was knowing he absolutely could afford to help. He just didn’t want to.
Ironically, I had discovered only two days earlier that I was pregnant after years of trying for a baby together. I had planned a beautiful surprise for him.
Instead, that night, while he slept peacefully beside me, I packed my things and left.
At 3 a.m., my phone exploded with calls. He was panicking, begging me to come home.
That’s when I finally told him the truth.
“I’m pregnant,” I said. “But if you can treat my son like a burden because he’s not biologically yours, then you don’t deserve to be a father to this child either.”
Now he’s crying, apologizing, and promising to change.
But I can’t stop hearing those words:
“Your son is not my problem.”
