My Neighbor Turned My Garden Into Her Dumpster—so I Brought Her a ‘Gift’ She’ll Never Forget

At 73, in a wheelchair, my yard is more than a patch of land—it’s my peace, my routine, my purpose. I take care of it every day, no matter the season. So when my new neighbor started tossing trash into it, I tried to ignore it at first.
But it didn’t stop.
One morning after fresh snowfall, I found an entire garbage can dumped under my trees—food scraps, wrappers, and filth ruining everything I cared for. I followed the footprints straight to her door.
When I asked her to stop, she laughed in my face.
“Just clean it up,” she said. “You’re out there anyway.”
That’s when I stopped being patient.
For weeks, I had been quietly documenting everything—photos, dates, proof. I sent it all to the one person she didn’t expect: her landlord… who also happens to be my longtime friend.
She got the notice fast.
When she realized what happened, she stormed over, furious. But there was nothing left to argue. The truth was right there in her own actions.
By Friday, she was gone.
The next morning, my yard was clean again. Quiet. Peaceful.
I may be old. I may be in a wheelchair.
But I’m not anyone’s trash collector.
