My Husband Blamed Me for My Period on Our Honeymoon, So I Turned the Tables

My husband and I got married last spring and had been planning our honeymoon for months. He had begged his boss for two weeks off, booked flights, hotels—everything was set.
The night before we were supposed to leave, my period started. When I told him, he just stared at me and said, “You had one job.”
I was stunned. As if I could control my body like flipping a switch.
He grabbed his keys and stormed out. I sat there in silence for a moment… and then I realized something. If this is how he reacts to something I can’t control, what would happen when real problems come along—kids, illness, financial struggles?
So I made a decision.
I called his mother and told her exactly what he said. Then I called my sister and started packing—not my bags, but his.
Hours later he returned with flowers, ready to apologize. But when he walked in, he froze. His mother was sitting at the kitchen table, furious. His bags were by the door, and I was calmly drinking tea.
He asked what was going on. I told him, “This is me doing my one job.”
He’s been staying at a friend’s place for two weeks now, texting that I overreacted. But I keep wondering—if I forgive this, what else will I be expected to accept in the future?
