They Tried to Cut My Adopted Son Out of My Life—So I Left Everything to Him Instead

I’m 78 years old. I raised my three children on my own, and years later, I adopted Brandon. As time passed, my biological children became busy with their own lives — but Brandon never drifted away. He checked on me often, helped whenever I needed it, and stayed present in a way the others didn’t.

For years, I planned to divide my inheritance equally among all four of them. To me, there was never a difference between my biological children and Brandon.

But recently, everything changed.

My eldest daughter brought me documents that would give my three biological children power of attorney over my affairs — leaving Brandon completely out. She claimed I had been forgetful and eccentric lately, and insisted this would help them manage my finances and medical decisions.

Then she pressured me to sign.

What hurt even more was her claim that Brandon was secretly in debt and struggling with serious problems. I didn’t react immediately, but later that night, I asked him. He denied everything and assured me he was doing fine.

That’s when I realized what was really happening.

They weren’t trying to protect me — they were trying to control me.

I decided to change my will and leave everything to Brandon instead. A week later, my children called to apologize and begged me to reconsider.

But the damage was already done.
