First dates can be awkward — but this one ended with a block before the night was even over.
When a man asked her out, he specifically wanted to know her favorite restaurant. She was honest, but warned him it was very expensive — a dinner there could easily reach $500. Trying to be considerate, she suggested a casual Mexican spot instead.
He insisted on the fancy place.
The date itself went well. They ordered appetizers, entrées, drinks, and dessert. Conversation flowed easily, and when the bill arrived — just as expected — it was steep.
They both offered to split it.

But just as the server reached to collect them, he suddenly grabbed her card, pulled it back, and said he’d cover the entire bill after all.
