My Husband Constantly Goes on Business Trips for Work – One Day I Followed Him and Found Out the Truth

My husband Tom and I have been married 15 years, with five chaotic, wonderful kids. His occasional business trips were just part of our life—he’d pack, kiss us goodbye, and call every night. I never doubted him.
Not until the day I surprised him at work with lunch.
The kids ran into his office, and he lit up like we’d gifted him the world. Everything felt perfect… until I ran into my friend Sarah in the lobby. When I mentioned how much Tom had been traveling, she looked confused.
“Emma… our company froze travel months ago. Nobody has been sent anywhere.”
Her words stuck in my throat.
That night, Tom casually mentioned another “Boston trip.” After he fell asleep, I checked his briefcase and calendar—yes, a flight… but something felt wrong. I booked a ticket on the same flight.
In Boston, I rented a car and followed his taxi into a quiet neighborhood. I expected a hotel. Instead, he walked up the path of a small house—where a young woman opened the door, smiling, and hugged him like she’d been waiting all day.
I drove home shattered.
When I confronted him days later, he swore he wasn’t cheating. The woman—Jessica—was a childhood friend caring for a dying mother. He’d been helping her financially, fixing things around the house… and lying to me to avoid suspicion.
It broke my trust, but not our marriage.
Counseling, honesty, and eventually meeting Jessica helped. Healing came slowly.
But we chose each other again—and this time, with no secrets between us.
