Donald Trump celebrated his 79th birthday at a military parade in D.C., ostensibly for the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary. He and Melania, rarely seen together publicly in his second term, sat side by side.
The event drew a sparse crowd and Trump spoke briefly for eight minutes. Photos showed him chatting with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, but a lip reader caught a sweet exchange with Melania: “Are you cold?” he asked. “No, I’m okay,” she smiled.
Body language expert Judi James noted Melania’s rare engagement, including placing her hand on Trump’s thigh twice—possibly affection or subtle control. Trump later rested his hand on her lap.
For a couple often seen as distant, the parade offered a glimpse of warmth, even if the crowd didn’t show up.
