Newly Released Epstein Flight Logs Include Notable Anchor Known as ‘The Most Trusted Man in America’
Recently released Jeffrey Epstein private jet records unexpectedly list Walter Cronkite, the iconic CBS News anchor, among passengers. The documents, part of an ongoing release by the House Oversight Committee, reveal Cronkite, then 90, flew from Newark to St. Thomas on January 12, 2007, with Epstein and others. Authorities clarify that being named does not imply wrongdoing.
Cronkite, who died in 2009, was renowned for his CBS Evening News tenure (1962-1981), covering major events like the Vietnam War and Apollo 11, earning Emmy Awards and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
The records also include figures like Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Richard Branson, and Donald Trump. Former U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta, involved in Epstein’s 2008 plea deal, defended the agreement, citing challenges with witness credibility and the need for some accountability.
