A Banner Reading ‘Welcome Home, Cheater!’ Appeared Outside Our House One Day, but the Real Shock Was Who Wrote It and Why — Story of the Day

I thought my marriage to Tim was perfect until I noticed lipstick stains and unfamiliar perfume on his shirts. His mother, Gabriel, always believed I married him for money. When I confronted Tim about his frequent business trips with his young secretary, he dismissed my suspicions, leaving me doubting everything.

Gabriel comforted me, insisting the signs were coincidences, even scolding Tim over the phone to value our marriage. Her support felt like the motherly warmth I’d missed since losing my own mom. But doubts persisted. One day, Tim returned from a trip, and a giant banner on our porch read, “Welcome Home, Cheater!” He accused me of putting it up, but Gabriel defended me, claiming we were together all morning.

Later, I found red lace panties and a note in Tim’s briefcase, signed by his “loyal assistant.” Furious, I confronted her at our door, but she denied everything, revealing Gabriel had visited her home and could have stolen the panties. The note matched Gabriel’s handwriting. She admitted to planting evidence—lipstick, perfume, the banner—to break us up, believing I wasn’t good enough for Tim.

Tim, overhearing, was furious and disowned her. Gabriel left, unrepentant. Tim apologized, promising to prioritize us. I collapsed into his arms, relieved but shaken, as the truth mended our fractured trust.
