Lonely Mom Checks Baby in the Morning and Is Confused Seeing His Diaper Had Already Been Changed — Story of the Day

At seventeen, Kendall’s world collapsed. When her adoptive parents discovered she was pregnant, her mother screamed: “Get out, you sinner! I won’t have you near your brothers and sisters!” Her father, too weak to defend her, handed her a backpack and some money.

Kendall walked to the park, alone, broke, and terrified. She thought bitterly of her “guardian angel”—the mysterious figure who had secretly left her birthday gifts and Christmas treats over the years. Surely, she told herself, no angel would save her now.

But help appeared in the form of Mila, a kind florist who offered Kendall a job and a tiny apartment. Grateful, Kendall began rebuilding her life. She grew strong, her flower stand flourished, and months later she gave birth to a baby boy she named Michael.

One night, Kendall noticed something strange: Michael slept peacefully, fed and changed, though she hadn’t done it. Determined to stay awake, she finally caught the intruder—a woman soothing her son.

The woman smiled through tears. “Hello, Kendall. I’m Martha. I’m your mother.”

Martha revealed she’d been forced to give Kendall up at sixteen but had never left her side—sending gifts, watching from afar, and even arranging Mila’s help. Now, with both Mila and Martha by her side, Kendall finally had the unconditional love she had always craved—and Michael gained a grandmother too.
