Former Press Secretary & Legendary TV Journalist Passed Away

Bill Moyers, esteemed journalist and former press secretary to President Lyndon B. Johnson, died at 91 from complications of a long illness, his family told CNN. A pioneer in public television, Moyers hosted Bill Moyers’ Journal and other PBS programs, earning praise as “the conscience” of the country from Walter Cronkite. Known for thoughtful interviews and advocacy for independent journalism, he critiqued corporate media and political corruption, earning over 30 Emmys and several Peabody Awards. He retired in 2015 and is survived by his wife of nearly 71 years, Judith.
