Pro Racing Legend Passed Away At 53

Veteran driver Robbie Brewer, 53, died after suffering a heart attack during a Sportsman division race at Bowman Gray Stadium on Saturday, causing a crash, according to FloRacing and The Spun. With four laps left in a 20-lap feature, Brewer’s No. 17 car, running fourth, veered into the outside wall in turns three and four before hitting the front-straightaway wall. A beloved figure in the Bowman Gray Racing community for nearly 40 years, Brewer was known for his skill, sportsmanship, and devotion to family.
