A Frozen Comeback

This morning, while walking my toddler to daycare in freezing 0-degree weather, a stranger scolded me for letting her walk in such cold. Feeling uncomfortable but focused, I knew my toddler was warmly dressed. The stranger apologized to her, assuming I’d made a poor parenting choice. Surprisingly, my toddler, unfazed, smiled and said, “The cold never bothered me anyway,” quoting her favorite movie, Frozen. I couldn’t help but laugh at
her perfect response, a reminder of kids’ resilience. She was content, skipping through the snow like it was nothing. The stranger, caught off guard, fell silent, and we continued to daycare. My toddler’s confidence turned an awkward moment into a proud one for me. It showed how capable and resilient children can be, teaching us to face challenges like cold weather—or life—with courage and joy.
