Jane married Ted and had 13 children. Her first husband, Ted, died of cancer. She remarried again, and she and Bob had 7 more children. Bob was killed in a car accident 12 years later. Jane again remarried, and this time, she and John had 5 more children. Jane finally died, after having 25 children. Standing before her coffin, the preacher prayed for her. He thanked the Lord for this very loving woman and said, “Lord, they’re finally together.”
The congregation murmured, moved by the sentiment. One of Jane’s eldest sons, Thomas, stepped forward, his voice trembling. “Preacher, you mean Mom and Ted, Bob, and John—all reunited in heaven?” The preacher smiled softly, shaking his head. “No, son. I meant her legs. After 25 children, they can finally rest together in peace.” A ripple of laughter broke through the tears, a fitting tribute to Jane’s enduring spirit and the love she gave so freely.
