A 6-Year-Old Girl Stole My Daughter’s Lunchbox, and the Teacher Sided With the Thief

So I Decided to Teach Them All a Lesson

A 6-year-old girl stole my daughter’s $50 bento lunchbox, and the teacher sided with the thief, despite my daughter’s name being inside it. I confronted the teacher and principal, but when they argued instead of returning it, I dumped the girl’s food in the trash and took the lunchbox back. My sister said I should’ve let it go—she’d buy another—but I say it’s the principle: why replace what a bully stole?

The girl’s from a well-off family and didn’t need it. My daughter’s been picked on before, and I’m done. She’s switching schools soon. Some praised me for defending her—wish my mom had done the same when I was bullied.
